Gotcha Day

We could see her coming down the outside steps and that's when our eyes began to tear up! She came into the room where we were waiting and met us with a half smile. She said, "Mama and Baba," then she began to look around, looked a bit puzzled, then terrified, and then began to cry. She cried for a while at the Orphanage and in the room at the hotel. She didn't want to look at us. After her crying jag, she was wonderfully distracted with a coloring book (and, by the way, Joan and Julie, she's a lefty!). Here you see her loving McDonald's french fries, which Fred taught her to dip into the sauce which she had used to dip her chicken nuggets in. She is an absolute beauty and has an infectious laugh. She is very playful and loves to smile, lifting her shoulders in a coy way! Hoping sleep time goes as well!! We expect a few more meltdowns because of the huge changes in her life, but we're well on our way.
